FaxMateŽ Number Porting Terms and Conditions

Introduction

There are a number of steps and considerations to the number porting process  It is essential that you provide accurate information to ensure a successful number port.

Terms & Conditions

  1. In porting a number(s), the service associated with that telephone number is disconnected from the existing Service Provider's network and may result in the closing of your account with that service provider;
  2. In porting a number(s) any DSL/Spectrum Sharing service associated with that telephone number is disconnected and may result in finalization of the DSL Spectrum Sharing account for that service or may result in the rejection of a port request;
  3. Through the porting process there may be costs and obligations imposed by the current service provider associated with that number. Those costs and obligations may include early termination, porting or diversion fees.
  4. You must not change or deactivate your existing service after submitting the port request.  Numbers can only be ported while active;
  5. If you request cancellation of your port request after the date the port is submitted there is no refund of the port request fee;
  6. Acceptance of the port request does not warrant that the port request will be successfull from your current service provider. Your current Service Provider may reject this port request if the information provided is incorrect, or does not match the data held by them.
  7. In this case, you authorise us to correct the information and resubmit the request to port your telephone number to us, or dispute the rejection by your current Service Provider. A porting request may also be rejected for other reasons as stated in the LNP Industry Code.

  8. You do not need to terminate this service with your existing provider, as this will occur automatically upon successful porting of your number.
  9. There is no guarantee that the porting process will be completed within any specified timeframe although typically approval is obtained within 2-8 weeks.
  10. Ports are performed during business hours of 8am to 5pm AEST/AEDST, Monday to Friday, excluding National Public Holidays.
  11. Porting Cutover can only be initiated at least 2 business days after the porting Notification Advice is sent by Betteroff Networks to your current Service Provider. If a port request is rejected and needs to be resubmitted, Porting Cutover cannot take place for at least another 2 business days after the request is resubmitted.
  12. In the event of a port withdrawal or reversal, we, the gaining service provider is not responsible for any period of outage.
  13. You may have outstanding contractual obligations and costs owed to your current Service Provider. The gaining service provider is not liable for any such costs.
  14. Only your nominated telephone number is being ported / transferred. This may result in the loss of any Value Added Services that are associated with the service provided by your existing Service Provider (eg Voicemail).
  15. If you wish to port your telephone number to another Service Provider, then you must contact the other Provider to initiate that request.
  16. We reserve the right to charge a fee for porting your telephone number
  17. Local Number Portability (LNP) does not guarantee you can keep your telephone number if you move to a different geographic location.
  18. To the extent permitted by law, the gaining service provider is not liable to you or any person claiming through you for damage, loss, costs or expenses or other liability in contract, tort or otherwise direct or indirect, for or in relation to porting.
  19. Privacy: Betteroff Networks Pty Ltd collects personal information from you necessary to perform the service sought by you. The type of personal information held will depend on the services you request and your terms of use.
